Your Questions, My Answers
Everything about bringing Raising a Boaz to life
- Why did I write Raising a Boaz?
Because stories of redemption matter. Raising a Boaz is proof that God’s faithfulness can reach us even in our darkest moments.
I’m publishing this book to give hope to single parents, trauma survivors, and anyone who feels unseen or unworthy. I want readers to know they’re not alone—and that healing, purpose, and grace are still possible.
- What’s the difference between traditional publishing and partner (hybrid) publishing?
Traditional publishing is highly competitive, and even if accepted, authors often give up the rights to their own story along with most of the royalties. There’s also less control over editing, design, and marketing.
Partner (hybrid) publishing is collaborative. I get to keep the rights to Raising a Boaz while working with professional editors, designers, and publishing experts. It’s an investment that ensures quality and allows me to stay closely involved in how God’s story through my life is shaped and shared.
- Why didn’t you go traditional?
I didn’t formally pursue a traditional deal. A literary agent I spoke with was honest—without a large existing platform, it would be difficult to secure one.
That conversation helped me realize I wanted to maintain creative control while ensuring professional quality. Partner publishing allows me to do both, and to choose a publisher who aligns with my vision and the message God has entrusted to me.
- How many times did you submit Raising a Boaz before deciding on this path?
I’m currently in the process of exploring and submitting to multiple partner (hybrid) publishers. I’ve ruled out a few that weren’t the right fit, have conversations scheduled with others, and have already received interest from one publisher. My goal is to find the best possible partner who aligns with my values, offers professional quality, and supports the book’s mission to reach both faith-based and general audiences.
- How long will it take to publish Raising a Boaz?
The first step is raising the funds to cover the publishing costs. Once that’s complete, the process typically takes about six months—sometimes faster if all steps move quickly.
By month four or five, the book would be available for presale, with a full release by month six. I’m trusting God with the timing, knowing His plans are always better than mine.
- What does the cost of publishing Raising a Boaz cover?
Publishing well isn’t just hitting “print”—it’s making sure Raising a Boaz is the best it can be. Your support helps cover:
-
Professional editing to make sure the message is clear, polished, and impactful
-
Cover design that draws readers in and reflects the heart of the book
-
Interior layout and formatting for print and digital versions
-
Production and printing costs
-
Distribution setup so readers can find and buy the book easily
I want Raising a Boaz to be done with excellence and care—no shortcuts that would diminish its impact. Your gift helps make that possible.
- Why are you asking for help?
Because publishing well costs real money. I want Raising a Boaz to be done without shortcuts or compromises that would weaken its message or impact.
